The Staff Selection Commission conducts the SSC GD Constable exam every year to recruit candidates for the posts of Constable (General Duty) and Rifleman (General Duty).
Be sure to check the eligibility at the SSC portal, https://ssc.nic.in. Candidates should be aware of the detailed eligibility criteria before submitting the SSC GD online form 2025. Candidates should fill out the application only when they fulfil all the criteria mentioned in the official notification because the candidature of the candidate remains provisional till the final document verification by the Commission's officials.

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced a total of 53,690 SSC GD vacancies 2025. The revised SSC GD vacancy 2025 list was released on April 21, 2025 along with the official notification. The Commission has announced the force-wise and gender-wise vacancies on the official website- ssc.gov.in.

1. Understand the Exam Pattern & Syllabus Thoroughly

  • Understanding the syllabus carefully is the first step in the preparation for this exam. It helps you to know Paper 1 and Paper 2 thoroughly and helps you prepare accordingly.

Q.1- What is the fee to be paid with the application? 

ANS.) The fee to be paid with the application is Rupees one hundred (Rs. 100/-) for each Examination. 

Q.2- I have made payment more than once. How to get refund?

ANS.) Fee once paid will not be refunded.

Q.3- What are the contact details of a particular Regional / Sub Regional Offices of the Commission?

ANS.) Contact Details of the all 9 Regional/ Sub Regional Offices of the Commission are available on the website of the Commission and concerned Regional website(s) of the Commission.

Q.4- How to apply for any examination of the Commission?

ANS.) After publication of the Notice of the Examination please login using your ‘Registration Number’ and ‘SSC Registration Password’ in the login section of the website. Click on the Examination Link you wish to apply for in the ‘Latest Notifications’ Section of your Dashboard. Read the Notice of Examination before you apply for any examination.

Q.5- How to reprint my offline bank challan?

ANS.) Login using your ‘Registration Number’ and ‘SSC Registration Password’ in the login section of the website. Click on the ‘Download Offline Challan’ link of the concerned examination in the ‘Latest Notifications’ Section in your Dashboard.

Q.6- What to do, if application status is showing incomplete after making online payment?

ANS.) It means that fee is not yet received by the Commission from the Bank. Status of fee payment can be verified at the ‘Payment Status’ or ‘Double Verification of Payment’ links provided in the candidate’s login screen.

Q.7-  What is meant by the application status showing “Provisionally Completed” or “Provisionally Accepted”?

ANS.) The online application has been submitted successfully. It has been accepted provisionally by the Commission because the details filled by you have not been verified by the Commission.

Q.8- I have completed the application process. I cannot find any link to download my application form in PDF.

ANS.) Login using your ‘Registration Number’ and ‘SSC Registration Password’ in the login section of the website. Click on the ‘Print’ link of the concerned examination in the ‘Latest Notifications’ Section in your Dashboard. 

Q.8- I wish to correct my name/ father’s name/ mother’s name/ Gender/ mobile No. etc. in the registration part, how can I do it?  

ANS.) Login using your ‘Registration Number’ and ‘SSC Registration Password’ in the login section of the website. Click on ‘Modify Registration’ and make necessary changes. Be cautious while editing as entries in the ‘Basic Details’ tab are allowed modification only once.

Q.9- Can I change my address details photo, signature etc. before applying?

ANS.) Yes, you can change it before applying to an examination. Login to your account using your login credentials, then Click on ‘Modify Registration’ and make necessary changes.

Q.10-  I want to change my typing medium in respect of Skill Test/ Type test

ANS.) After submission of the online Application, change of typing medium is not allowed.
