About Railways Group D Exam

RRBs (Railway Recruitment Boards) and RRCs (Railway Recruitment Cells) conduct the Railways Group D exams for filling out the posts in Level-1 of 7th CPC pay matrix such as Track Maintainer, Helper/Assistant and Assistant Pointsman.

Candidates who wish to work in the government sector, particularly Indian Railways, usually apply for these posts. The exam is held region-wise. And so, the exam notification too comes with region-wise details. The candidates must be aged between 18 to 33 years of age, and have a minimum qualification of an ITI degree or diploma. The exam is held in four stages – computer based test (CBT), physical efficiency test (PET), document verification and medical test.
