FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs):
- Can candidates from any state apply for SSC GD Constable in any CAPF?
Ans: Yes, candidates from any state can apply for SSC GD Constable in any CAPF. However, some forces may have preferences or vacancies reserved for candidates from certain states. It's essential to check the detailed notification for any state-wise allocation of vacancies.
2. Is there any difference in the selection process for male and female candidates?
Ans: The selection process for male and female candidates in the SSC GD Constable exam is largely similar, with the same written test (CBT). However, there are differences in the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST), where the requirements for height, running distance, and time vary between male and female candidates.
3. Do candidates have to serve in any particular region after selection, or can they choose their posting location?
Ans: SSC GD Constables can be posted in any part of the country depending on the needs of the force they are recruited into. While preferences for posting locations may be considered, the final decision is based on organizational requirements. Often, new recruits are sent to border areas or remote locations.
4. Are there any relaxation benefits for NCC certificate holders in the SSC GD Constable recruitment process?
Ans: Yes, candidates holding National Cadet Corps (NCC) certificates may receive additional marks in the final merit list. The relaxation benefits vary as follows:
- NCC 'C' Certificate: 5% bonus marks.
- NCC 'B' Certificate: 3% bonus marks.
- NCC 'A' Certificate: 2% bonus marks.
This can improve a candidate’s chances of being selected.
5. Can a candidate who has tattoos apply for the SSC GD Constable exam?
Ans: Tattoos are generally allowed, but there are certain restrictions. Tattoos depicting religious symbols or names, traditional symbols, or marks as per customs of the candidate’s community may be permitted.
